Anita Zaror

BA in Journalism and Mass Communication by Universidad de los Andes (Chile) and MA in Business Marketing by Universidad de Malaga (Spain), is a MarComm expert with more than two decades of combined experience in lifestyle journalism, high-level public relations, corporate communications, marketing, and event management across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Anita’s passion for travel, food, and, drinks has led her to visit 50+ countries in five continents. While living in Spain, India, Turkey, Thailand, and Chile, she has explored the most rustic and sophisticated cuisines from London to Vilanculos, and from Beijing to New York, and has toured wine trails from Napa to Chianti, and from Khao Yai to Constantia.

In 2016, Anita became one of the first 100 certified sommeliers in Chile, after graduating from the Chilean School of Sommeliers. Moreover, she holds a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits, certified by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (UK).

She has worked as journalist and editor in magazines, radio, television, and online media, and has advised hundreds of companies mainly in the tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy industries in Chile and abroad. Some clients include TripAdvisor, Yahoo Spain, ViaMichelin, Starwood Hotels, AccorHotels, Noi Hotels, Network 10 Australia, Destinos TV Americas, Radioactiva FM, CARAS magazine, Travel Time magazine, and Lookeast magazine, among others.

Her experience in the tourism sector led her to become the second vice-president of the Chilean Association of Travel Writers (APTUR), from 2016 to 2018.

Anita was responsible for media relations at ProChile ASEAN—the institution of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of trade in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines)—for three consecutive years, helping to promote Chile as a tourism, gastronomic, and investment destination.

While for the last three years she has been the producer of Descorchados, Latin America’s most prestigious guide for wines of the Southern Cone (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil), since 2017, Chilean boutique wineries have trusted her with their entry and expansion into Southeast Asia.
